This compilation of Hindi audio books are from Hindi Yugm. An exceptional set of Hindi short stories written by famous Indian writers such as Munshi Premchand , Harishankar Parsai ,Girijesh Rao  are in this collection and are mostly read by Mr Anurag Sharma.

All these are in public domain. What i did was to name them properly and upload them in to a one place so that anyone can download them all with one click instead of searching , browsing and downloading individual stories.

Anurag Sharma's voce is soothing , clear and is full of life. Stories … well they don't need any extra introduction. Exceptional is to say the least. Now its your chance to forget everything and immerse in the hassel bassel of everyday Hindusthan life.  Enjoy.!

ලංකාවේ නාඩගම් නාට්‍ය ගීත (MP3 Download)

නුවර යුගයේ  සිටි රජවරුන් සමග විවාහ වීමට ඉන්දියාවේ සිට ගෙනා රජ කුමරියන්  සමග සිදුවූ සංස්කෘතික හුවමාරුවක ප්‍රතිපලයකි නාඩගම් කලාව.  දකුණු ඉන්දියාවේදී  මෙය භගවතී මේලා ලෙසද තුරුකුත්තු හෙවත් විදි නාට්‍යය ලෙසද හැඳින්වේ. මේ  නාඩගම් කලාව යාපනය , මීගමුව , කොළඹ , මාතර , වැලිගම , තංගල්ල   ආදී ලංකාවේ වෙරළාශ්‍රිත ප්‍රදේශ වල අතීතයේ බොහෝ ජනප්‍රිය ව පැවතුනි.  

නාඩගම් නාට්‍ය කලාව බටහිර ඔපෙරාවනටද චීනයේ පීකින් නාට්‍ය කලාවටද සමානකම් දක්වයි. දකුණු ඉන්දියාවේ ඉතාමත් ජනාදරයට පත්ව පැවති  හරිශ්චන්ද්‍ර නම් නාට්‍යය ලංකාවේ ප්‍රථමවරට වේදිකා ගත කරන ලද නාඩගම් නාට්‍යය ලෙස ඉතිහාස ගතව ඇත. මුල්කාලයේ මේ නාට්‍යයන් බොහොවක් වේදිකා ගත කරන ලද්දේ ද්‍රවිඩ අධ්‍යක්ෂක  වරුන් විසිනි නමුත් 1801 දී ප්‍රථම වරට මෝදර පේදුරු සිල්වා විසින් හරිශ්චන්ද්‍ර නාට්‍ය සිංහලට පරිවර්තනය කොට වේදිකා ගත කිරීම තවත් බොහෝ සිංහල නාඩගම් නාට්‍යයයනට මග හෙළිකර දීමක් විය. 

ක්‍රිස්තු වර්ෂ 1770 දී උපත ලද පිලිප් සිඥෝ මහතා ලාංකික  නාඩගම් කලාවේ පියා ලෙස සැලකුම් ලබයි.   නාට්‍ය රචකයෙක් ලෙස නමක් දිනා ගත එතුමා ප්‍රථම සිංහල නාඩගම් නාට්‍යය රචනා කල තැනැත්තා ලෙසද සැලකේ. 

මුල් කාලයේදී නාඩගම් නාට්‍ය කලාවට බොහෝ කොට ක්‍රිස්තියානි ආභාෂය  ලැබුයේ  නාඩගම් රචකයන් බොහොවෙක් ක්‍රිස්තියානි වූ බැවිනි. නමුත් පසු කාලයකදී බෞධාගමික කතාවන්ද නාඩගම් රචකයනට වස්තු බිජ විය.

  

රඟපෑම් කලාව :

මුලදී දින හතක් පුරා රඟ දැක්වූ නාඩගම් නාට්‍ය පසුකාලයේදී ක්‍රමයෙන් කෙටිවී ගොස් එක  රාත්‍රියකට සිමා විය. හොඳින් ගායනය පුහුණු  නොකලෙකු හට නාඩගම් නාට්‍යයක රඟපෑම කල නොහැකිය. පොතේ ගුරු කතාව විස්තර කොට අවසානයේදී පත්‍රයා බෙර තාලයට පා තබමින් වේදිකාවට පා නගයි.

වේදිකාවට පැමිණි පසු හෙතෙම  ගායනයකින්  තමන් හඳුන්වා දීම කරයි. මුල් කාලයේදී ස්ත්‍රී චරිත රඟපාන ලද්දේ පුරුෂයන් විසින් වුවත් වර්තමානයේ එය එසේ නොවේ.  පුරාණයේ තිරගත වීමට නියමිත නාඩගම් නාට්‍යය ජනයාහට  දැනුම් දීම සඳහා උපයෝගී කරගෙන ඇත්තේ අඬබෙරයයි .  

නාඩගම් නාට්‍යයක පාද තබා ගමන් කරන විලාසය ගායනය තරමටම වැදගත්කමක් උසුලයි. පොතේ ගුරා ගායනයක් මගින්  චරිතයක් හඳුන්වා දීමේදී එම හඳුන්වා දෙන චරිතයන් වේදිකාවට සම්ප්‍රාප්ත වන්නේ ඒ ඒ චරිතයනට ආවේනික පාද තැබීමේ රටාවකිනි.  නාඩගම් සංගීතය සරලය.  ආකාර 24ක් පමණ ඇත. කර්ණාටක සංගීතයෙන් ආභාෂය  ලබා පසුකාලයේ  දේශීය උරුවකට සකස්ව  ඇත.  වර්තමානයේ මේ ගීත බොහොවක් ගැමි ගීත බවට අනුවර්තනය වී  ඇත.

නාඩගම රංග දක්වන වේදිකාව කරලිය නමි. කරලියට පසකින් ආවරණයක් ද ගොඩ නං වේ. කරලිය සහ එය පසකින් ගොඩනංවන මඩුව අතර ආවරණය පිණිස විවිධ චිත්‍රයන්ගෙන් වර්ණවත් කරන ලද  තිර එල්වනු ලැබේ. 

ක්‍රිස්තු වර්ෂ 1855 දී පමණ ගෘහස්ත වේදිකාවන්හි දී ද නාඩගම් නාට්‍ය රංග දැක්වීම ඇරඹිණි.  කොන්චි නම්  නාඩගම් නාට්‍ය එසේ වේදිකා ගත කරන ලද ප්‍රථම නාට්‍යයයි. නාඩගම් නාට්‍යයේ රජුගේ ආගමනයෙන් පසු ප්‍රථම අදියර නිමවෙන අතර ඉන්පසු දෙවන අදියර ඇරඹේ.  

චරිත :

• පොතේ ගුරු :-  දේවාරාධනය සඳහා ගීතයක් ගයමින් කරලියට ප්‍රථමයෙන් පැමිණෙන පොතේ ගුරු රත්නත්‍රයන් අවසර ගෙන නාඩගම ප්‍රේක්ෂකයාට හඳුන්වා දෙයි.  
• බහු බූතයා :- ( මට තාත්ත දාල  තිබිච්ච විහිළු  නමක් තමයි බහුබූතයා. අද තමා ඒ වචනයේ ප්‍රභවය දැන ගත්තේ. ) . හාස්‍යයෙන් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයන් ප්‍රාණවත් කොට ඔවුන්ගේ අවධානය ලබා ගැනීම උදෙසා බහු බූතයා ප්‍රථමයෙන් වේදිකාවට පිවිසේ.  
• සෙල්ලම් ළමයා :- පෑනක් රැගෙන කරලියට එන සෙල්ලම් ළමයා බොහෝ අසු පිරු තැන් ඇති නුවණැති , ප්‍රියමනාප පෙනුමැති තැනැත්තෙකි. අභරණ පළඳා ඇත. 
• දේශකයා :- නාඩගම විස්තර කිරීම මේ දෙදෙනාගේ කාර්යයයි. 
• පණිවිඩ කරු :- රජුගේ වාසලෙහි අඬබෙර කරුවා.
• හඬ දූතයෝ :- මොවුන්ගේ කාර්යය රජුගේ ආගමනය දැනුම් දීමයි.
• ආසනේ විරිඳුව :- රජු හා ඇමතියන් කරලියට පැමිණ අසුන්ගන්න අවස්ථාවෙහි පොතේ ගුරු විසින් ගයන ගීයකි. 

මෙය ජනනි අමරසේකර මහත්මිය විසින් සන්ඩේ ඔබ්සවර් පත්‍රයේ පලකරන ලද  ලිපියක සිංහල පරිවර්තනයකි. මුල් ලිපියට මෙතනින් යන්න.

Fuyumi Sakamoto (坂本 冬美 )

This time I have fallen in love with unbelievably melodious , magical and  soothing  music from Fuyumi Sakamoto. Born on  March 30, 1967 in  in Kamitonda, Nishimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan ,  Fuyumi Sakamoto (坂本 冬美 Sakamoto Fuyumi,) is a Japanese female enka singer under EMI Music Japan.

Her voice is much much sweeter than Meiko Kaji's and echoes around the room and in the ears of the listener. Fuyumi's melodious voice is   extremely  similar to the legendary ,   immensely popular and influential Chinese pop singer Tersa Teng from Taiwan. Infact Fuyumi is the only female enka singer to have an album reach 200,000 in sales since Teresa Teng in 1989.

The album , Love Songs: Mata Kimi ni Koishiteru (また君に恋してる) released in 2009 is her best work as i feel. Here are some songs from her....  just to get a  feel of it.Go to a quite place, close your eyes and immerse in it... ^_^

Following is a 1 hour long video containing few songs from Teresa Teng , an unbelievably popular and influential Chinese pop singer from Taiwan. Her simple , sweet and sincere voice is recognised all throughout East Asia and It is often said, "Wherever there are Chinese people, the songs of Teresa Teng can be heard." 

And that is no exaggeration in any way... its not one time I have heard her music playing in shops owned by Chinese community in Melbourne.

 Her songs are popular even today among Korean, Japanese, Thai,Vietnamese, Malaysian and Indonesian listeners all throughout the world.

Perfume (パフューム Pafyūmu): Japanese Female Electro Pop Group

Few weeks back suddenly bumped upon this  pop group  and bit by bit absolutely started liking their addicting electro pop tunes. 

Who are they ...

Perfume (パフューム Pafyūmu) is a Japanese all-girl trio from Hiroshima, Japan, consisting of Ayano Ōmoto, Yuka Kashino, and Ayaka Nishiwaki. They debuted locally in 2001 and made their transition to a major label in 2005, focusing more on electropop. As of April 2011, the group has released twelve major label singles.

In 2000, Ayaka Nishiwaki, Yuka Kashino ("Kashiyuka"), and Yuuka Kawashima ("Kawayuka") formed the group. Because all three members had the Japanese character for fragrance in their names (香), they named the group Perfume. However, before the group could even debut, Kawashima decided to pull out of the project and pursue her studies. Nishiwaki set out to find a replacement, and Ayano Omoto (Nocchi) joined as the third member. The three girls attended the Actors School in Hiroshima, as part of the inaugural class of 1999.

On November 28, 2010, Perfume received the "Best Asia Artist Award" at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Macau.

In 2011, the representative song "Polyrhythm" was chosen as an inserted song of Pixar's movie, Cars 2. The song is also included in the film's soundtrack. Perfume was invited, and attended the world premiere ofCars 2 in Los Angeles on June 18, 2011.

Sunil Santha

Sunil Santha born as Baddaliyanage Don Joseph John  on April 14, 1915 on the Sinhala New Year's Day in Dehiyagatha, Jaela  was a renowned and influential Sri Lankan composer, singer and lyricist. He was pivotal in the development of Sinhala music and folk songs in the mid to late 1940s and early 1950s. He composed the beloved soundtracks to Lester James Peries'Rekava and Sandesaya in 1956 and 1960.

Stumbled upon a great blog site today morning that contains many original gramophone age Sinhalese songs. No, they are not the skimpy versions sang by modern counterparts.

Even though the site construction and the video editing for some of the songs are really amateurish and leave much to desire for, the rarity of the songs they have published makes the site really worthwhile.

If you are a gramophone and old Buddhist devotional song lover like me, do check it out.
