Japanese Drama-Oshin-おしん-(English Subtitles Download)

Yes, you read it correct folks. The long awaited English subtitles for the drama Oshin are in making by Keiko1981 and her team  @D-Addicts. 

For people who doesn't know (can there be anyone possibly out there?) Oshin (おしん) is a Japanese serialized morning television drama, which aired on broadcaster NHK from April 4, 1983 to March 31, 1984 and also aired in 59 countries to this date, with subtitles ranging from English, Hindi to Arabic.

  

The series follows the life of Shin Tanokura (田倉 しん) during the Meiji period up to the early 1980s. Shin was called "Oshin". In total, 297 15-minute episodes aired.  To this date, Oshin holds the record for the highest average rating in Japanese television history (52.6%). It also holds the record for the highest rating of a single episode (62.9%). Only the annual Kohaku Uta-Gassen, and specific special events have scored higher ratings.

Finished watching the season one of the Japanese Drama JIN -仁-. What Can I say... absolute treat it was. Honto ni arigatho Moka San for recommending it. Usually I stay away from watching ER type dramas where doctors and nurses run around as the house (Err .. Hospital) is on fire which  looks really artificial. Well this drama  has a fair bit of that in it  yet it was not at all boring to watch and the plot takes one straightly to the Edo period in Japan with nicely done sets. looking forward to watch the Second Season.

Some background info first:

JIN -仁- was a 11 episode Japanese TV Drama broadcasted on Tokyo Broadcasting Systems, inc (TBS) TV Network, Japan.  It was aired from October 11 , 2009 to December 20, 2009  on Sunday nights. According to Video Research Ltd, this drama achieved 25.3% ratings nationwide during its finale with an average rating of 19.0%.

Till this date ,Jin has received many recognitions such as the  Best Drama ,  Best Actor - Osawa Takao , Best Supporting Actor - Uchino Masaaki , Best Supporting Actress - Ayase Haruka ,  Best Scriptwriter - Morishita Yoshiko ,  Best Director - Hirakawa Yuichiro, Yamamuro Daisuke, Kawashima Ryutaro , Best Theme Song in the 63rd Television Drama Academy Awards.

It has also received the  Best Actor - Osawa Takao , Best Producer: Ishimaru Akihiko and the  Asia Award from  the 2010 Tokyo Drama Award. Thats a fair bit of awards I guess for a single drama.

Plot:
A brain surgeon named, Minakata Jin, who has spent the last two years in anguish, as his fiancee lies in a vegetative state after an operation he performed. One day, he faints at the hospital and awakens to find himself transported back in time to the Edo period. Attacked by a samurai and escaped with the help of a man named Kyotaro. Kyotaro suffers a serious injury to the head while trying to protect him, but Jin manages to save his life despite a lack of proper medical equipment. Because of that, Kyotaro's sister Saki begins taking an interest in Jin and becomes his assistant. Meanwhile, Jin is determined to find a way back to the present.

Saioree - A Must Watch Drama 
This drama is amazing, it takes you through the role of jin in the edo (the past), the impact he made in the progress of medcine in the future, the feelings he faces as he learns to let go of miki and fearing for the future changes. this drama can teach you medical/history terms and at the same time makes you admire the courage of jin and saki. I dont think this is the only season, the ending was too open, so hopefully there’s a second season

Loved this show
I don’t think there was a single part of this show I didn’t like. The acting, the sets, the storyline. It was all so good and well done. I’d seen the lead actress in other shows, but they were comedies, I had not seen the lead actor at all before, but both did an excellent job.

I must admit that I got caught up in the drama from the episode one! And I couldn’t wait to see the next one. Which is the result of a good ploting and an amazing atmosphere, created both by the story in itself and the actors and set. It looks like a taiga drama at first, but the feeling is very realistic and modern. What I learned from the story, besides what has already been said, is how important it is in life to pay attention to everything that is around you, and not take everything for granted - you may never know when you’ll lose something or will need to use some knowledge that you once thought you’d never have to use.

Japanese Drama - Zettai Kareshi - 絶対彼氏 - (OST Download)

Couldn't write anything for some time. Even though I have watched Gokusen , yeh all 3 seasons , couldn't gather enough motivation to write anything about it. Ahh... don't be mistaken. No doubt, it is the grand mother (well the main character is Kumiko ... a woman) of all high school students/teacher dramas. Really entertaining and heart capturing. But this post  after all is about the J-Drama Zettai Kareshi ( Absolute Boyfriend / 絶対彼氏。)

First impression was , what a silly theme ? Will it be a waste of time watching it ? But contrast to the expectations , it turned out to be a really good and entertaining drama after all. There were heaps of funny and embarrassing moments to make one laugh continuously and the final episode (11) was heart capturing.

Zettai Kareshi (絶対彼氏。 ) was a 11 episode Japanese TV Drama broadcasted on Fuji TV Network, Japan. It is based on a manga series written by Watase Yuu that was released on 2003.  It was aired from April 15, 2008 to June 24, 2008  on Tuesday nights. According to Video Research Ltd, this drama achieved 15.1% ratings nationwide during its peak with an average rating of 13.2%.

Story:

At first when I read the summary of this drama, I thought it was going to turn out to be really dumb, but to my surprise it ended up being one of the best dramas I have ever seen. In the beginning, you feel like Night is kinda over the top and annoying, but as you get into the story you start to really really like Night , to the point where you are super sad at the end. There were many cute and funny parts. I had many laughs :).  I give this drama 10 thumbs up. I’m adding it to my favorites list (which is pretty hard to get in to)!.

This is really a great J-Drama! i must say one of the best that i’ve seen! It will really make you smile and cry at the same time.. Hayami Mokomichi as Tenjo Night really portrayed the role of a ideal robot lover!! All the characters were so great and i really love the story! I am now reading the manga version of this drama it is really different from this one but i think this drama will really capture your heart.. One of my favorite J-Drama!!

This is not your average love story folks. But it is indeed one of the most beautiful ones to tell children before going to bed. It depicts the love between woman and machine, colored in a beautiful storyline, good visuals handsome and the most famous actors of the Japanese scene. It’s relaxing, funny, romantic and inspiring. It tells the famous story of a robot that yarns to be human and a girl that loves her robot very much, but knows their relationship is almost impossible.

Just finished watching the last episode (10th) of this drama. Even though the  first few episodes lacked depth and emotions  and were very similar to the way the characters in a manga acts, later episodes were really good , heart touching and  worth watching. So if you want to give up after watching  the first few episodes i suggest you continue watching as things get realistic and interesting  in latter episodes.

It was aired from January 12, 2011 to March 16, 2011 on Wednesday nights. According to  Video Research Ltd, It achieved 13.2% ratings nationwide during its peak with an average rating of  10.5%.

Story:
A Cabaret Club (Kyabakura) hostess named Misaki decides to take a change of career and teach at a  high school instead. Little to her knowledge, she is assigned a class full of students who are not keen on studying and would rather bunk off school instead.

Actually good!  - When I saw this drama being announced, i really exclaimed: "Not another one!" since there is many  "Teacher with a special background helping a bunch of troublemaker to go in the right path" drama out there. But being a Kis-My-Ft2 fan (the group of the 2 principals students characters) I thought I would make an effort and watch it. It was surprisingly good. Yes, the story is cliché?  and the situations are déjà-vu but the way the teacher, Misaki makes it a lot  funnier to watch. Misaki makes you go into her craziness and I came to love the character. 

Basically, it’s not the best drama out there but if you’re looking for a funny high school drama  and that it’s been a while since you saw "Gokusen" I suggest you this. The cast is fun, so are the characters and the plot, so why not?.

The Story is interesting and the cast is awesome. It’s a great show. A "must-watch" for everyone,  who wants to enjoy a funny and slightly touching drama. Everyone who loves "Gokusen" will love this one, too.

The Story about the Hostess Misaki, being a kind teacher of the Class 2-Z is very great. The own  stories of the five main students were touching, but they were lucky to have that kind of teacher  who cheers them up. Karina and the other actors did a great job. It was refreshing and enjoyable to watch..
